Description:Portrait of actor Telly Savalas as “Kojak”. Caption: none Publication information: Alternate version of the portrait that appeared on the cover of TV Guide for January 3rd – 9th, 1976. Medium: Oil on canvas Size: 17 x 11” Signature: signed lower right. Condition:A couple abrasions running to lower right corner. Though not distracting, I wanted to point these out. Comment: The caption that appeared on the magazine cover read: “Can Britain survive Kojak?”Within the pages of the magazine is a story entitled “Who Loves Ya, Baby?” by Alan Coren illustrated by Ronald Searle. To me, this painting is superior to the one that appeared on the cover of the magazine. I imagine that the other design was chosen for publication because the TV Guide logo would have covered part of Telly's head. A copy of the magazine accompanies the artwork Price: $3,600
