| Artist: Al Buell (1910-1996) Description: Woman at piano and man standing at easel, perhaps discussing the Arts. Caption: not known Publication information: Most likely a story illustration for Redbook magazine in the early to mid-1950s . Medium: Oil on canvas, mounted to board Size: 22 x 19.25” Signature: Signed lower right . Condition: Somewhat unevenly vanished, a couple minor older inpainted areas. Overall very good, unspectacularly framed. Comment: Buell’s ability to portray beautiful women is well-documented in his many pin-up and glamour subjects. The ability to turn an idealized figure into a believable fictional character is an attribute that often seems in short supply among his pin-up contemporaries. Price: $2,300. PRICE REDUCED |
