| Artist: Heinrich Kley (1863-1945) Description: Standing nude with bouquet besieged by menacing beasts. Publication information: Apparently not published, was originally part of one of the artist’s sketchbooks. Medium: Pen and ink and watercolor. Size: 7.5 x 5” Signature: Signed lower right. Condition: Slightly unevenly cut left edge and with tiny tears to extreme edges of the sheet, not effecting the image. Presented in a period frame. Comment: The master German satirist and cartoonist made his mark depicting a world filled with virtually every type of monster and demon imaginable. His published sketches have become the yardstick by which many of the greatest pen and ink artists of the past century have come to measure themselves. Price: SOLD |
