| Artist: Charles Addams (1912-1988) Description: Uncle Fester and Morticia visit British Museum and report to Grandmama. Caption: First panel: “I do hope it’s who you think it is, Fester” Second panel: “It’s all been wonderful, Grandma – and Fester has at last established his ancestry!” Publication information: Advertisement for British Telecom, ca. 1984. Medium: Pen and ink, watercolor en grisaille Size: 12.5 x 20.25” overall image size Signature: signed lower right. Condition: Excellent, mounted down to an illustration board backing. Comment: In addition to the successes of his long career at The New Yorker magazine Addams also did quite a bit of advertising work. Here he brings his two most endearing characters into the mix.
