Medium: gouache Size: 16.5 x 18.75” Signature: signed lower right Condition: Very good, matted, not framed Comment: I'm tempted to just leave my comment at: “Ahhh the Cold War”. Those of you who know me well know that doing so would be hard for me. To me, the strength of this picture comes in the combination of a strong composition and details of the furnishings... certainly it's not really about narration, unless we can separate that from “story-telling.”... as an example... seems like her hand would no longer be on the telephone if the thugs were already prepared to drag the soldier away, nonetheless it's that gesture that tells us what the image is all about.
