Atherton, John

Price: $ 5,250.00

Description: Embodiment of Faith in desolate landscape, lightning strike

Comment: A wonderfully stylized magazine interior from a period when most magazine illustration, it seems to me, was less evocative than this. That was one of the traits that sets Atherton apart, an ability to get a point across without over reliance on action to tell the story. I’m reminded here of Eyvind Earle.

Price: $5,250 (+ $100 domestic shipping)
