Morgan, Wallace

Print
Price: $525.00

Description: Young woman arrives at formal occasion

Comment: To me, and I've come to think that I'm in the minority on this topic, Morgan was one of the (if not the) illustrators who too many people now overlook. As a fan of his, it is his ability to record a scene that makes him deserving of greater attention among collectors and critics alike. The fact that he rarely is mentioned in the same breath as his contemporaries Luks, Sloan and Glackens has helped to keep his prices very modest. Artists and non-artists alike should marvel at how readily he was able to present human emotions through only the slightest variation of shape, line weight and shadow.
