Comment: I suppose that one needn't be a science fiction and fantasy fan to appreciate Vin Di Fate's artwork. I'm living proof. This is a haunting picture. The precision with which the subject is presented helps make it work. Di Fate is, of course, a fairly recent inductee into the Society of Illustrators Hall of Fame. At almost thirty years old, this picture dates from mid-career… Vin's working on a book of his black and white artwork and I'd not be a bit surprised to see this included in it.
