van Buren, Raeburn

Print
Price: $800.00

Description: At the circus

Comment: In 1930 van Buren was a bona fide workhorse for The Post, illustrating feature stories on more-or-less a biweekly basis. Many of the assignments that year were for the fiction of Anne Cameron. Beyond the obvious, it's a little hard to say precisely what's going on here. Seems like the clown and the audience boy are simpatico, but without the caption, I can't tell precisely why. Well, this gives you an opportunity to make up your own story. Assuming you like the story enough, you can buy the artwork and hang it on your wall!

Price: $800 (including domestic shipping)
